Lekalao watches an RSS or Atom feed and writes to your list when there is something new: a blog post, a podcast episode, another recipe.

The layout whose editable zone receives the posts.

Two variables: :title (the title of the first post) and :count (how many posts). “New: :title” by default.
as soon as something appears, once a day, once a week
  • As soon as something appears: as soon as the feed publishes, checked every hour. - Once a day: once a day, at the hour you choose. - Once a week: on the day and at the hour you choose.
1 to 50
The smallest number of new posts worth writing about (useful weekly: no e-mail for a single post), and the most in one e-mail.

What the e-mail holds

For each new post: the title as a link to the post, then its summary (500 characters at most). A footer with the unsubscribe link and the postal address is added. The campaign is sent like any other and appears in Campaigns with its statistics.

What you can count on

  • A post already sent never goes out again.
  • If the campaign that was created cannot go (missing postal address, an untested mailer…), it stays a draft with “needs attention” in its name, the posts are not marked as sent, and no new campaign is created until that draft is sorted out. The message appears on the feed’s row.
  • A feed that cannot be read is flagged on its row, with the error, and nothing is sent.

Managing feeds

The Feeds page shows each feed with its list, how many campaigns it created and when it was last checked. Send now forces a check without waiting for the schedule; a feed may be paused; the bin deletes it (the campaigns already sent stay).
