Importing

The Imports tab of a list.
1

Drop the file

Drag in a CSV, TXT or XLSX file of 20 MB at most. The first row must hold the column headers.
2

Match the columns

Lekalao recognises the usual headers and suggests a target for each column:One column has to hold the e-mail address.
3

Choose the options

  • Tags added to everyone in this file;
  • Replace existing tags of the subscribers already there, instead of adding to them;
  • Subscribe again people who unsubscribed who appear in the file (unticked by default: someone who left stays away, and their line is flagged in the report).
4

Start it

The import runs in the background; the page shows how far it has got. At the end: added, updated, failed, with an error report you can download, line by line.

What an import does

  • An address that is already there is updated: the fields filled in the file overwrite those on the record, and the attributes are merged.
  • An address on the suppression list is refused.
  • Imported people are subscribed without a confirmation e-mail: an import assumes consent was gathered elsewhere. It is recorded as such in the consent log.
  • The tags column takes several values separated by ,, ; or |.
  • The language column takes fr, FR, fr_FR, pt-BR, or the name of the language (Français, French, Deutsch).
  • Automations triggered by “someone subscribes” start for the new subscriptions.
Your plan’s subscriber allowance applies. If it runs out part-way, the import stops and is marked failed; the lines already handled stay imported. Move up a plan or make room, then import the rest of the file.

Exporting

The Exports tab of a list. Choose what to export: every active subscriber, one status, or a segment. Start the export prepares a CSV file in the background; it appears in the list, ready to download. The file holds: address, first name, last name, time zone, language, status, tags, subscription and unsubscription dates, then one column per custom attribute.
Exported files are deleted automatically after 7 days.
